UMD PLACES 17TH ON 2013-14 WBCA ACADEMIC TEAM HONOR ROLL LIST

The University of Minnesota Duluth posted the 17th best overall team grade point average among all NCAA II women's basketball teams during 2013-14, earning itself a spot in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the fourth time in the past six years.

The Bulldogs, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Annette Wiles, collectively turned in a cumulative GPA of 3.563 -- which was the best of any UMD men's or women's team -- this past school year. UMD sported five players (seniors Megan Lueck, Katrina Newman and Hannah Rutten, juniors Danielle Flood, Alyssa Kerkhoff and Shauni Payeur and sophomore Taylor Dillinger) who attained 2013-14 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic Team status. Newman also was a NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic With Distinction Award recipient
