Two of the top rivals in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference held each other scoreless through nearly 70 minutes of action before Winona State University struck for the lone goal of what would end up being a 1-0 victory over the University of Minnesota Duluth on Sunday afternoon in Winona, Minnesota.
UMD (3-5-0, 3-2-0 NSIC) had a season-low five shots in the match, and just one on goal, as Winona State (7-1-0, 4-1-0 NSIC, RV) in a rematch from last season's NCAA II Central Region Final at Malosky Stadium.

Marissa Rosa made five saves on the afternoon, keeping UMD alive despite a quiet day offensively. Winona State had 13 shots in the match, just six on-goal. Winona State sophomore forward Meg Riebau netted the game's only score, a strike from just outside the box that deflected out of a scrum just past the reach of the Bulldog keeper. She was assisted by Hannah Burt and Nicole Sames.

Sheridan Reiners was the only Bulldog to take multiple shots on the day, with two.
UP NEXTUMD will look to right the ship when they return to Malosky Stadium for just the second time this season next Saturday. The Bulldogs will play host to the University of Sioux Falls at Noon.
