UMD BEGINS FOUR-GAME ROAD TRIP THIS WEEKEND AT NO. 21 MINOT STATE

The University of Minnesota Duluth will meet its fourth ranked foe of the season and the second in as many games on Saturday afternoon when the Bulldogs travel to No. 21 Minot State University for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match-up in Minot, North Dakota.

UMD (4-7-1, 3-5-1 NSIC) will continue its four-game road trip Sunday as the team travels to the University of Mary. The Bulldogs come off a weekend splitting a pair of 1-0 scores during the team's penultimate stop at Malosky Stadium, knocking off Wayne State (Neb.) College while slipping against No. 20 Augustana (S.D.) University.

SCOUTING THE BEAVERS | 10-1-1, 8-0-1 NSIC
10206No. 21 Minot State made its debut in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) this week, drawing against No. 12 Minnesota State University Mankato last week to end a seven-game winning streak ... the Beavers rank second in the NSIC averaging 1.917 goals per gamer while holding opponents to a 0.667 GAA ... junior forward Ninfa Ramirez ranks third in the league in scoring with 10 goals and a pair of assists (22 points) ... senior goalkeeper Celene Johnson ranks fourth in the league, allowing 0.764 goals per game while needing just two saves per outing in 11 games played ... head coach Jason Spain is in his sixth season at Minot State ... UMD is 1-2-0 in its three meetings against the Beavers, falling 3-1 last season at Malosky Stadium on Oct. 17, 2014 ... the teams will get the action kicked off Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

10209U-Mary started its season with an exhibition victory over the University of North Dakota of NCAA Division I but picked up its only in-season victory on Sept. 27 over Southwest Minnesota State University ... the Marauders average the third-lowest scoring mark in the season at 0.727 per game ... senior goalkeeper Bailey Wenz ranks no. 14 in the league with a 1.889 GAA while making 4.60 saves per game ... junior midfielder Megan Searson leads U-Mary having scored four goals on the season ... the team has been outscored 28-8 on the season ... Sarah Cook is in her fourth season at the helm of the Marauders ... UMD is 8-3-1 all-time against U-Mary including a 3-0 victory on Oct. 19, 2014 last season ... the Bulldogs will meet the Marauders at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Melby produced her second shutout of the season, lowering her season GAA nearly half a goal from 1.73 to 1.34, making six saves on Friday night against Wayne State ... freshman forward Natalie St. Martin netted her second goal of the season in Friday night's victory under the lights in Duluth ... freshman goalkeeper Carlye Wright stopped four balls on Sunday afternoon against No. 20 Augustana as UMD's defense held the Vikings to just seven shots ... junior defender Skye Finley played all 180 minutes leading the Bulldog defense on the week, adding one shot-on-goal against Wayne State. The Bulldogs defense held opponents to just one goal on 11 shots-on-goa, producing a shutout on Friday night against WSC and
holding Augustana to a season-low seven shots and five shots on goal.
