The University of Minnesota Duluth returns to Malosky Stadium this weekend for its penultimate stop at home, hosting a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes including No. 20-ranked Augustana (S.D.) University.
First though, UMD (3-6-1, 2-4-1 NSIC) will take on Wayne State (Neb.) College under the lights on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. for the team's first night game at home this year. The Bulldogs are coming off a 1-1-0 weekend that saw the offense open up for a half, taking a 3-0 victory Saturday over the University of Sioux Falls before falling quiet in a 1-0 defeat against Southwest Minnesota State University on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS | 1-6-3, 1-5-1 NSIC

Wayne State picked up its first victory of the season last weekend, knocking off the University of Minnesota-Crookston 1-0 on Saturday in Wayne, Nebraska ... the team has scored more than one goal in a single game just once this season, a 3-2 loss to Upper Iowa on Sept. 20 ... freshman forward Christina Stasi leads the Wildcats with two goals on the season while senior forward Josie Brown has a goal and two assists on the year ... junior goalkepeer Kylie Comba has played every minute in net for Wayne State, producing a pair of shutouts while posting a 1.59 GAA and 78 saves ... Bruce Erickson is in his first season at the helm of the Wildcats having the spent the last 16 seasons at Creighton University ... UMD is undefeated, 12-0-2 all-time against Wayne State including a 4-2 victory over the Wildcats last season on Oct. 11, 2014 ... the Bulldogs will play their first game under the lights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night against WSC.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS | 8-1-1, 6-0-1 NSIC

No. 20 Augustana has yet to taste defeat in the NSIC season, falling in non-conference play against No. 9 the University of Central Missouri ... Minnesota-Crookston was the first team in five matches to crack the scoreboard against Augie but the Vikings won 2-1 last Sunday afternoon ... sophomore forward Samantha Tymkowicz leads the Viking with eight goals on the season, one shy of the most in the NSIC (three players tied) ... sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Machacek has six shutouts already this season and a 0.49 GAA (5 total goals) while needing to make just 40 saves on the season ... head coach Brandon Barkus returned for his tenth season at Augie in 2015 ... UMD is 11-4-1 all-time against Augustana, including an upset victory the then-No. 23 Vikings on Nov. 5, 2014 in last year's NSIC postseason tournament ... the Bulldogs and Vikings will close out the Homecoming action for UMD on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
