The National Collegiate Hockey Conference unveiled the finalists for its eight individual awards on Thursday and on that list were three members of the University of Minnesota Duluth program --
Scott Sandelin (Coach of the Year), freshman
Kasimir Kaskisuo (Goaltender of the Year) and junior
Andy Welinski (Defenseman of the Year).
Kaskisuo was named to the NCHC All-Rookie Team earlier this week while Welinski attained All-NCHC second team status.
The eight award winners will be announced next Thursday (March 19) at the NCHC Awards Celebration in Minneapolis on the eve of the second annual NCHC Frozen Faceoff.
