The University of Minnesota Duluth and head coach
Annette Wiles have announced the signing of a third addition to the Bulldog women's basketball incoming class for 2015-16.
Samantha "Sammy" Kozlowski, a 5-foot, 8-inch native of New Berlin, Wisconsin, will join the Bulldogs next season after back-to-back All-Wisconsin State seson as a junior and senior for New Berlin Eisenhower High School and head coach Gary Schmidt. In each of her three-year starting career as a point guard, she earned All-Woodland Conference honors. After being an All-State Honorable Mention on the state runner-up Lions as a sophomore, she improved each year to the second team as a junior and first as a senior. In 2014-15, she averaged 16 points and 4.8 assists per outing, while also grabbing three rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. Kozlowski boasted a 48 percent shooting mark from three-point range, earning a spot in the Wisconsin State Tournament's three-point contest, finishing second. In addition to her accomplishments on the court, Kozlowski was a two-time start qualifier on the swim team and participated in track & field as a freshman.
"We are so proud to add Sammy and her family to our Bulldog Country," said Coach Wiles. "She is an exciting player to watch with her ability to attack to the basket, but her ability to shoot such a high three-point percentage is what makes her outstanding."
Kozlowski joins
Minnesota natives Emma Boehm and Kiera Nelson in the incoming class. The 2015-16 UMD schedule will be announced later this year.
