The University of Minnesota Duluth will look to get back above the .500 mark this weekend but face a tough task in doing so as Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foe Upper Iowa University and perennial conference rival No. 25 Winona State University come to town.
UMD (2-3-1, 1-1-1 NSIC) opened up conference play with three matches last week, drawing with St. Cloud State University before knocking off Minnesota State University Moorhead and falling against Northern State University.
SCOUTING THE PEACOCKS | 2-2-2, 1-1-1 NSIC

Upper Iowa also opened its NSIC season with a win, loss, and tie: falling to Winona State in the opener while knocking off Wayne State (Neb.) College last time out ... the Peacocks broke out against Wayne State, scoring three goes for the first time all season. They've scored one or zero goals in four of their six matches this season ... that hasn't stopped senior midfielder Madie Edwards from scoring as she's netted four goals on the season to lead the Peacocks ... senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Emanuel has spent the majority of time in-net for UIU, posting a 1.42 GAA with 40 saves (.851 save percentage) for a 1-1-2 record, while sophomore Caila Petrie has a 1.33 GAA in three halves of action ... head coach Brian Diaz is in his third season patrolling the sidelines for Upper Iowa ... the Bulldogs own a 5-2-0 record all-time against the Peacocks, defeating Upper Iowa 2-0 last season on Sept. 21, 2014 ... UMD and UIU will meet with an early start time on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

No. 25 Winona State will be the second ranked opponent for UMD this season (L 6-0 vs. then-No. 7 University of Central Missouri) ... the Warriors stumbled for the first time in 2015 last time out, a 1-0 victory for Augustana (S.D.) University ... Winona State has allowed just the one goal through three NSIC contests ... freshman midfielder Abby Bohanski leads the team with 12 points on the season (five goals, two assists) ... sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Oleson has played every minute between the pipes for Winona State to the tune of a 0.67 GAA and .862 save percentage. She has three shutouts on the year ... head coach Ali Omar has been on the bench for the Warriors for 21 seasons as of 2015 ... WSU owns the edge in the all-time series as the Bulldogs are 11-14-3 all-time against the Warriors ... UMD and Winona State will meet for the 29th time when the two teams take to the Malosky Stadium turf at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
