For the first time in six years, the University of Minnesota Duluth is one of the top-three women's hockey teams in the country.
The Bulldogs climbed into the No. 3 spot after USCHO.com released it's national weekings Monday. Â UMD was last ranked third by USCHO.com back on Nov. 29, 2010.
After taking five-of-six points from No. 10 Bemidji State University over the weekend, the Bulldogs improved to 4-2-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, which owns the top-three national spots. Â Overall, UMD is 2-2-2 against teams ranked in the top-10.
UMD will travel to Columbus, Ohio this weekend to face Ohio State University. Â Game-time for Friday is set for 5 p.m. CT.
