After a sensational junior campaign, University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey goaltender Ève Gascon has been named a Second Team 2025-26 CCM/AHCA Women's Division I All-American.
The award, announced Saturday by the American Hockey Coaches Association and chosen by the nation's Division I head coaches, marks the sixth time in program history a Bulldog netminder has been named an All-American, and the third time in five seasons. Gascon becomes first Bulldog goaltender to be named AHCA All-American in back-to-back seasons. The UMD goaltender, a First Team AHCA All-American selection in 2024-25 has followed in the footsteps of the great Kim Martin (2008, First Team), Riitta Schaublin (2005, First Team) and Emma Soderberg (2021 Second Team).
Gascon, who was a Goalie of the Year Finalist and named the 2025-26 WCHA Goaltender of the Year -- honors she has also owned in consecutive seasons -- was also named to the 2025-26 All-WCHA First Team. The HCA Goaltender of the Month for February, she was six-times named the WCHA's Goaltender of the Week this season. The Mascouche, Quebec native was the 2025-26 WCHA Statistical Goaltending Champion after posting a league-high .943 saves percentage in league games and led the conference with 10 shutouts – the second most in all of the NCAA – and seven in WCHA play. Gascon owned a 1.77 goals against average over all her 35 games started, played the most minutes in the league (2071:56) and posted 993 saves -- the third most in s single-season in UMD program history. Gascon also averaged 28.3 saves per game this season and owned a .942 saves percentage.
Gascon's 10 saves tied her for the second most in season at UMD, and the junior now sits with 21 career shutouts -- the second most in program history and just two behind the record of 23.
Gascon is now the 24th UMD AHCA All-American, and is the sixth player to be named an All-American at least twice in career, joining Bulldog greats Jenny Potter (three-times first team), Maria Rooth (two-time first team and a second team), Caroline Ouellette (two-time first team), Julianne Vasichek (two-time second team), Jocelyne Larocque (two-time first team) and Ashton Bell (first team and second team).
