BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT: CATHERINE DAOUST

Senior defenseman and assistant captain Catherine Daoust is part of the leadership core that the University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team will rely heavily on this season.

The two-time WCHA Scholar Athlete and WCHA All-Academic Team member, who is a mechanical engineering when she's off the ice, has a goal and two assists so far this season, including a power play tally.  Over her Bulldog career, Daoust has compiled seven goals and 20 helpers for a total of 27 points.  With 113 games in a UMD sweater, she ranks in the top-four for games played among her current teammates this season, giving her a crucial amount of experience on a young squad.

Why I Chose UMD:  It is a great hockey program, the city, and the rink are amazing and UMD also allowed me to study mechanical engineering while playing hockey. I felt right at home when I visited Duluth.
