Senior defenseman and assistant captain
Catherine Daoust is part of the leadership core that the University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team will rely heavily on this season.
The two-time WCHA Scholar Athlete and WCHA All-Academic Team member, who is a mechanical engineering when she's off the ice, has a goal and two assists so far this season, including a power play tally. Over her Bulldog career, Daoust has compiled seven goals and 20 helpers for a total of 27 points. With 113 games in a UMD sweater, she ranks in the top-four for games played among her current teammates this season, giving her a crucial amount of experience on a young squad.

Why I Chose UMD: It is a great hockey program, the city, and the rink are amazing and UMD also allowed me to study mechanical engineering while playing hockey. I felt right at home when I visited Duluth.
