Adam Johnson got his sophomore year off to a rousing start and now is aiming to end it in the same manner.

The Hibbing, Minn., product  picked up at least one point in each of the first seven games of the 2016-17 season and during that stretch earned himself a NCHC Offensive Player of the Week citation following UMD's weekend home series with Notre Dame in mid October. Johnson hasn't let his foot off the accelerator much since and comes into this Friday's night NCHC Frozen Four semifinal bout with Western Michigan occupying the No. 2 spot on the Bulldog scoring charts with 31 points on 16 goals and 15 assists -- all career highs. The  Bulldog to play four different positions this season (left wing, center, right wing and -- last Friday -- defense), Johnson also tops UMD in both power play goals (five) and game-winners (4).
