SOUCY SIGNS TWO-YEAR, ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT WITH NHL'S WILD

With his collegiate playing career now in the rearview mirror, Carson Soucy has his eyes in taking the next step.

Today the University of Minensota Duluth senior defenseman did that when he signed a two-year, entry level contract (starting with the 2017-18 season) with the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild. Soucy will report to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) for the remainder of this season.

Soucy, Minnesota's fifth-round selection (137th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, generated a career-high 15 points on three goals and 12 assists this past season despite missing seven games in March with a lower body injury. The Irma, Alberta, native served as an assistant team captain with the 2016-17 Bulldogs, who advanced all the way to the NCAA Frozen Four title game before bowing out to the University of Denver 3-2 this past Saturday night.

In 147 career games, Soucy scored 12 goals and 35 assists for 47 points while going a +31.
