BULLDOGS UNABLE TO WITHSTAND AUGUSTANA OFFENSE IN 85-65 LOSS

The University of Minnesota Duluth tumbled to Augustana University 85-65 inside the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Friday night. The Bulldogs fell to 9-11 and 8-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Vikings extended their record to 13-8 and 7-8 in the NSIC.

With the 20-point win, Augustana increased its win streak over UMD up to seven games and pushed the series record to 16-11 in favor of the Vikings. The Bulldogs last victory came on Jan. 8, 2012.

Sophomore forward Brandon Myer continues to be an offensive threat with his 12th 20-point game of the season. Myer finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity strip, garnering 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting (61.5 percent). Freshman forward Jake Paper made the most of his career-high 21 minutes on the court. Paper's six points and six rebounds were both career-highs, while also adding an assist and a block.

UMD takes on Wayne State College Saturday at the Rice Auditorium in Wayne, Neb. First tip is set for 6:00 p.m. The Wildcats have already eclipsed their win total from last season.
