Box Score The University of Minnesota Duluth erupted for five goals in the second period, scoring four of those in a seven-minute span, and went on to derail host Michigan Tech University 5-2 Saturday night to complete a series sweep of its long-time rivals.

Tanner Laderoute capped off that scoring spree with two straight goals for the No. 3 Bulldogs, who improved to 2-1-1 overall. The No. 19 Huskies are 0-2-0 after falling 2-1 to UMD in their 2018-19 debut.

Parker Mackay (his second in as many nights). The Bulldogs, now unbeaten in 11 of their last 12 visits to the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena, finished with a commanding 38-13 shot advantage and held the Huskies to just two shots in the opening period (both coming in the final minutes of play).
The Bulldogs went 1-of-4 on the power play while Michigan Tech was failed to score with the man advantage (0-of-2) for the second straight night.
UMD will return to AMSOIL Arena this Friday night to open a two-game non-conference series with the University of Maine. The Black Bears have not played in Duluth since Jan. 7, 1989.
