It isn't always about how your start -- but how you finish.
After mustering just two goals and three assists in his first 11 appearances of the season, Joey Anderson has generated 21 points (eight goals and 13 assists) in his 19 games since. That stretch basically began when the University of Minnesota Duluth right winger returned in early January from the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., where he captained Team USA to a bronze medal finish -- one year after he became the first Bulldog to ever strike gold at that event.
Anderson, a 2016-17 National Collegiate Hockey Conference All-Rookie Team honoree, will accompany his UMD teammates to St. Paul for this weekend's NCHC Frozen Faceoff. It was at this same tournament 12 months ago that Anderson helped the Bulldogs capture their first NCHC playoff championship by scoring the game-winning goal in a 4-3 victory over the University of North Dakota.
