The University of Minnesota Duluth won its second team title in as many meets this season on Saturday morning as the Bulldogs placed first at the Augsburg University Invitational in Bloomington, Minn.
UMD posted a team score of 88 points in the 24-team, 6,000-meter event and was followed by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (101 points), St. Olaf College (122 pts.), the University of St. Thomas (128 pts.), the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (135 pts.) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference colleague Winona State University (160 pts.).
For the second straight time,
Morgan Radel led the Bulldogs individually -- and was the highest-placing freshman among a field of 312 finishers, coming in with a time of 24:37.2. Fellow rookie
Alexandra Robran was next in 11th place (24:46.4) while sophomore
Gabriella Brinkley (25:06.1) and junior
Elizabeth Kyes (25:20.2) took 18th and 23rd, respectively. UMD also received Top 40 performances from sophomore
Rhianna Rinke (28th; 25.21:1), freshman
Mackenzie Hall (35th; 25:32.3) and senior
Megan Stuart (39th; 25:36.1).Â
The Bulldogs are now off until Sept. 28 when they compete in Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Blugold Invitational.
