After an impressive sweep of Minnesota State University, Mankato this past weekend, the University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team crept up a spot to eighth in the latest USCHO.com national poll released Monday morning.
The Bulldogs bounced the Mavericks 3-2 in overtime Friday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena before stomping on MSU 4-1 on Saturday. UMD started the season ranked No. 10, but has now moved up twice in both national polls in the past two weeks.
UMD heads to Bemidji State University this weekend in its second Western Collegiate Hockey Association action of the year. Game times are set for 6:07pm Friday and 4:07 pm Saturday at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn.
