For the third time in as many matches this season, the University of Minnesota Duluth found itself trailing following doubles play and for the third time in as many matches this season, the Bulldogs came through in singles and delivered a victory.
In Friday night's 2019 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener against Bemidji State University in Duluth, UMD prevailed in four of six singles events and clinch the win with sophomore
Isabel Thiner's three-set thriller at No. 6. Sophomore
Natalie Cahill (No. 3) and freshmen
Sophie Lynch (No. 4) and
Ally Tiedemann (No. 5) also delivered singles victories for UMD (3-0 overall). Cahill and Lynch also won at No. 2 doubles.
The Bulldogs will close out the weekend by hosting the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday in another NSIC outing at 2:30 p.m. at the Duluth Indoor Sports Center.
