Mikey Anderson and Noah Cates each received a weekly citation from the National Collegiate Hockey Conference after both played a key role in the University of Minnesota Duluth's series sweep of Miami University this past weekend.

Anderson was chosen the NCHC Defenseman of the Week while Cates landed Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Anderson, a sophomore from Roseville, Minn.., paced all NCHC defensemen in scoring last weekend with four points and tied for the overall assists lead (four). In Friday's 4-2 triumph over the visiting RedHawks, Anderson assisted on both of UMD's third-period goals -- including the eventual game-winner. He was then credited with two more assists in the series' finale as the Bulldogs took down Miami 6-5. For the weekend, Anderson was a +2 and blocked four shots

Cates, a left winger from Stillwater, Minn., was the lone NCHC freshman to collect more than one goal last weekend and tied for the NCHC lead in rookie scoring with three points. He scored twice -- for the first multi-goal night of his young collegiate career -- and help set up another tally in the series opener. In the two bouts with Miami, Cates went a +3 and put five shots on goal.

This marks the second NCHC award of any kind for Anderson (he was also selected the NCHC Defenseman of the Week on Dec. 3, 2018) and the first for Cates.
