The University of Minnesota Duluth will conduct open varsity baseball tryouts in late August for any enrolled fulltime UMD student (registered for 12 or more fall semester credits) with a strong desire and ability to compete at the NCAA Division II level.
An initial tryout meeting will take place on Aug. 27 at 3:30 p.m in Room 39 of UMD's Sports and Health Center. Tryouts will then begin on Aug. 29 at UMD's Bulldog Park.
Prospective athletes must have a medical physical completed April 1, 2019 or more recently, and have the physician performing the physical complete the UMD Athletic Training Department Medical Form (linked on the bottom of the page). Physicals can be performed by any qualified physician,
as long as that physician fills out and signs the form below.
Tryout participants are expected to wear baseball attire to the tryouts. This includes baseball pants, shirt, cleats and a cap. A tryout waiver form will be supplied at the tryout meeting.
Additionally, athletes are required by the NCAA, UMD Office of Compliance, and the UMD Athletic Training Dept. to fulfill physical eligibility prior to involvement in tryouts. Training forms are available in the Athletic Training section of this website or by clicking here. Participants must also provide a photo company of their medical insurance card.
