Midwest Communications and University of Minnesota Duluth athletics have signed a three-year extension, keeping rights for UMD football and men's hockey radio coverage with Midwest Communications through the end of the 2022-23 athletic season.
"We are delighted to once again renew our relationship with UMD athletics and look forward to a successful partnership in the years to come," said Midwest Communications Executive Vice President/Market Manager Shawn Skramstad.
Bulldog games primarily air on KDAL AM 610 and FM 103.9 under the terms of the current agreement, which was set to expire after the 2019-20 season. Games are streamed online at kdal610.com and via KDAL's free mobile app. KDAL-Radio has carried UMD men's hockey for 51 seasons (1960-2009 and 2017-present).
"We are thrilled to continue to partner with Midwest Communications as the home of the Bulldog Radio Network," said UMD Athletic Director
Josh Berlo. "Their support in bringing coverage of UMD Athletics to Bulldog Country has been exceptional and continues to grow."
Midwest Communications will also broadcast select UMD women's hockey games as part of this agreement.
