THE OPENING SERVE:
The UMD Bulldogs will be back at home as they host Minot State on Friday October 15th at 6:00 PM. The Bulldogs will then hose the University of Mary on Saturday October 16th at 4:00 PM. Both games will occur during UMD's homecoming weekend. Saturday's match will also be the teams yearly Breast Cancer Awareness Game.Â
SCOUTING REPORT ON MINOT STATE:
The Minot State Beavers come into the matchup having not won a match yet this season. The Beavers have played some of the top teams in the NSIC including Concordia St. Paul, Wayne State, Winona State and Southwest Minnesota State. To go along with their struggles, the Beavers have also yet to win a set this season in NSIC play. The last set they won came against William Jewell College at the Washburn Invitational.
The Beavers are led by Alexandra Koontz who is averaging 1.91 kills per set. They are also led by Sophia Peterson who is averaging 4.40 assists per set. Minot State is led by Head Coach Dana Cordova-Jacobson who is in her 5th season with the team.
SCOUTING REPORT ON MARY:
The Mary Marauders come into this matchup with a 3-15 record. Their wins come against Chadron State College, Anderson University, and Minot State (this match did not count as a conference match). The Marauders come into the match without having won a match in NSICÂ play yet this season.
Mary is led by Kennedy Drewis who is averaging 2.17 kills per set. They are also led by Kameron Selvig who is averaging 4.79 assists per set. The Marauders are led by Head Coach Abby Pollart who is in her first season with the team.

UMD currently holds a perfect 11-0 record against Minot State. The last meeting came on October 5, 2019 where the Bulldogs won 3-0.
The Bulldogs come into the matchup having a perfect 17-0 record against Mary. The previous match-up came on October 4, 2019 when UMD won 3-0.

Bulldogs Sophomore Grace Daak currently leads the NSIC with 79 total blocks and is second with 1.20 blocks per set. Senior Sydney Lanoue is currently second in the conference in total digs (303) and fourth in digs per set (4.59). Redshirt Junior Madison Gordon currently has the fourth most assists (643).

The Bulldogs traveled to No. 9 Winona State and to Upper Iowa. The Bulldogs would go on to drop both matches by a score of 1-3.
