Wayne, NE. -- The UMD Bulldogs would travel to face off against the Wayne State Wildcats in their season finale. After a tight first set, the Wildcats would control the rest of the match and would win the match 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-17).
The first set would see Wayne State jump out to an early 9-6 lead. The Wildcats would continue to control the set as they would build up to a 18-12 lead. Thanks to 4 straight points, the Bulldogs would battle back and would get it to a 21-20 deficit. From there teams would trade points until the Bulldogs would manage to tie it up at 23-23. After teams trade a point each to get to 24-24, the Wildcats would close out the Bulldogs and would win the set 26-24.
In the second set, the Wildcats would once again jump out to an early lead as they would take a 11-5 advantage. From there, teams would trade points as neither team could gain momentum. After the Wildcats took a 18-10 lead, UMD would score 5 of the next 6 to get back into the set. But it would prove to be too late as the Wildcats would go on a run of their own as they would score 5 of 6 to close out the Bulldogs 25-17 and take a 2-0 advantage.
In the beginning of the third set, the Bulldogs would take an early 4-2 lead before Wayne State would jump out to a 7-4 lead thanks to 5 straight points. From there, Wayne State would control the set as they would build a commanding 18-9 lead. After building it to a 22-10 lead, the Bulldogs would manage to score 6 of 7 points but would be too late as the Wildcats would close out the set 25-17 and win the match 3-0.

The Wildcats were led by Taya Beller who had 12 kills on the night. Rachel walker would lead the Wildcats with 38 assists while Kelsie Cada and Lauren Jacobsen would add 15 and 12 kills respectively.
