Duluth, Minn. -- The University of Minnesota Duluth was defeated by Northern Michigan University, 68-57. The Bulldogs drop to 2-3 on the season while the Wildcats improve to 4-2.
UMD started the game by struggling on offense, shooting just 39.1% from the field, 11.1% (1-9) on 3-pointers and they also turned the ball over eight times in the first half. However, what they lacked on offense they made up with their defense, forcing eight turnovers of their own and went into halftime with just a four-point deficit, 27-31.
Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, their shooting woes continued as they shot 22.2% from the field and 0% (0-13) on 3-pointers in the second half. This is the first time since November of 2019 that the Bulldogs have lost two games in a row.
Overall, UMD shot 28.6% (16-56) from the field, 4.5% (1-22) on 3-pointers and 88.9% (24-27) from the free-throw line.
