The University of Minnesota Duluth women's track team continued its lead up the to the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships last night as they competed in the Sheena Devine-Remitz Triangular in Bemidji, Minn.
Eight Bulldogs registered top-five finishes in running events. Freshman
Megan Gilles placed 5th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.64. Freshman
Jacqueline Olander placed 5th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.07. Junior
Lauren Gella finished 4th in the mile run with a time of 5:55.83. UMD took the first five spots in the 3000-meter run, sophomore
Julia Nielsen finished first with a time of 10:50.96, freshman
Lauryn Renier finished in second with a time of 11:02.85, sophomore
Anna Palodichuk finished in third with a time of 11:07.53, freshman
Franny Seidel finished fourth with a time of 11:22.11 and freshman
Haley Voermans-Dean finished fifth with a time of 11:48.43. Junior
Lily Hall took third place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.98, freshman
Megan Gilles grabbed the fourth spot with a time of 10.15.Â
Freshman
Grace Szymborski was the lone top-five finisher in field events. Syzmborski finished in fifth place in the long jump recording a distance of 15-00.00
UMD will travel to Mankato, Minn. today for the President Davenport Classic in one final tune up before NSIC Indoors.
