BULLDOG VOLLEYBALL, FOOTBALL, AND SOCCER DEBUT SPRING SCHEDULES

The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs football, volleyball, and women's soccer teams will be back on the court/field this spring for the first time since the fall of 2019.  The Bulldogs spring exhibition schedules will feature a mixture of home and away match-ups during the months of March/April.

"It will be 16 months since we last took the court to compete against someone else, so we are super excited to be back competing," said UMD head volleyball coach Jim Boos. "We will have a young group taking the court so the repetitions and experience they will gain throughout these spring competitions will be vital to our development as we look ahead to the fall season."

"We couldn't be more excited to strap on the pads and get back to competing against someone else," said UMD head football coach Curt Wiese.  "This will help us prepare and evaluate our team heading into the summer training months and fall camp."

"The thrill of returning to training for the players is clearly seen in their energy, effort, and smiles," said UMD head women's soccer coach Greg Cane.  "We're all having fun enjoying what we love to do. That includes me.  It has been a joy for me to be back on the field with the players.  As a coach, getting a response from your team, seeing them develop, and having fun is the reward.  It's great to be back on the field with them.  We are all excited to compete."

Following months of planning and development of safety plans, spectators for these spring events will consist of only invited guests (student-athlete family and friends) of the teams.  No public ticket sales will be offered.

Detailed protocols and guidelines are in place in an effort to foster the safest possible environment.  Universal masking, social/physical distancing, routine sanitization and cleaning as well as other MDH/CDC best practices will be in place to mitigate the risks of COVID-19.  The adherence to these policies by those in attendance is appreciated and required.

All contests will not count towards NCAA statistical records and all home matches will be streamed online for free at umdbulldogs.com/watch.
