On Tuesday Oct. 11, 2022 the National Hockey League opened their 2022-23 season with 12 Minnesota Duluth alumni filling spots on various opening-night rosters. 

Former Bulldogs Alex Stalock (CHI), Mikey Anderson (LAK), Alex Iafallo (LAK), Karson Kuhlman (SEA), Carson Soucy (SEA), Justin Faulk (STL), Scott Perunovich (STL, injured), Cole Koepke (TBL), Neal Pionk (WPG), Dylan Samberg (WPG), and Dominic Toninato (WPG) all made the respective team's rosters. The Bulldogs who made rosters and were apart of the National Championship team include Anderson, Samberg, Kuhlman, Faulk, Perunovich, and Cates. 

With 12, Minnesota Duluth has the second most alumni from a NCHC team to make NHL 2022-23 opening-night rosters. In total, 65 UMD alumni have made NHL rosters.
