"I'm proud of our effort today," said head coach
Curt Wiese. "I thought we played our second complete game on offense, defense, and special teams. I look forward to a great battle next week."
Minnesota Duluth wasted no time in getting themselves on the board.
Wade Sullivan received the kickoff and was tackled at the 28 yard line. UMD then made a 10 play drive. As they were in the red-zone, Concordia St. Paul took a penalty to then put UMD at the six yard line. On the next play

Curtis Cox, UMD was up 7-0. The Golden Bears were only allowed one drive in the first quarter but was shut down by the UMD defense.

During the drive quarterback
Kyle Walljasper completed a deep pass of 31 yards to
Zach Ojile to give them a first down at Bears' 10 yard line. Walljasper then rushed three yards to the end zone to give the Bulldogs their second touchdown. Minnesota Duluth kept the momentum going into the third quarter. UMD's first drive of the second half was kept short at four plays. On the fourth play Sullivan rushed up the left side 56 yards with nothing stopping him. UMD attempted another two-point conversion but still could not get the ball in the end zone. Though they missed the extra point, they still led 25-0. Once again the Bears were held to a four play drive by the Bulldog defense. Concordia did not punt on their fourth down, which put UMD at the Bears 37 yard line. With the end zone in sight the Bulldogs made it a short drive. Walljasper completed a deep pass down the middle to DeShaun Ames for 18 yards. Ojile then followed Ames's lead and caught a 19 yard pass in the end zone from Walljasper.
Tim Pokornowski was tasked with kicking the field goal for the Bulldogs. Pokornowski's kick was good and he put UMD at a 32-0 lead. On CSP's next drive they fumbled the ball and it was picked up by defensive back
Craesean Slaton. With only 20 yards to the end zone, UMD found success once again. Scoring the touchdown was
Levon Bellemy on a two yard rush. With another good kick from Pokornowski, the Bulldogs sat at 39-0. As Concordia St. Paul was still scoreless; they worked through the defense for 67 yards and found themselves in the end zone. With a good field goal, the Bears finished the quarter 39-7.
The Bulldogs continued to keep the ball rolling in the fourth quarter. Concordia started it off with possession where they started at their eight yard line. As the CSP quarterback tried to make a deep pass to the 21 yard line, linebacker
Harrison Kielar made an interception and ran to the end zone with the ball. Kielar scored the seventh touchdown for UMD and extended their lead to 39 points. The Bulldog defense was fired up after their interception and Kielar forced a fumble on the Bears next drive, where
Ethan Beffert recovered the ball for UMD. Minnesota Duluth took the turnover as an opportunity to score once again. On the eighth play of the drive,
Cameron Miller rushed seven yards for the Bulldogs eighth touchdown and Pokornowski kicked his third good field goal.
On the offensive side of the game, UMD dominated in all aspects of the game. They totaled 573 offensive yards, and 34 first downs. Duluth controlled possession with a gapping 42:28 to 17:32 differential. The Bulldogs went 12-14 on third-down conversion and were successful on six out of the eight red-zone scoring chances. Quarterbacks Walljasper and Olson both threw for over 100 yards with 123 and 106, respectively. Sullivan, with 100 , led in rushing yards and had his second consecutive 100 yard game. Carmickle led UMD with 81 receiving yards. The eight touchdowns were scored by eight different Bulldogs.
UMD's defense dominated the Bears and made multiple crucial plays for the team. UMD kept CSP to just 131 yards and only allowed eight first downs. Duluth held their offense to a 2-10 third-down conversion rate. The defense made two fumble recoveries and an interception, that all led to scoring opportunities for the offense. Wallace played a major part in the game, as he was tied for the lead with four tackles, forced a fumble, and made two sacks for a total loss of 22 yards.
Ethan Matzke also forced a fumble and made a sack for a loss of two yards. The three fumble recoveries were credited to Beffert, Slaton, and
Jacob Kaszuba who gained 33 yards. Kielar's touchdown return on the interception gave him his first collegiate touchdown.
Up Next Minnesota Duluth will be on the road once again to take on Bemidji State next weekend, Oct. 22 for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
