The Minnesota Duluth men's hockey team will battle the Michigan Tech Huskies on Thursday, March 24 at 2:00 PM in Loveland, CO in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. For the Bulldogs, it's their seventh straight trip to the national tournament. 

The Bulldogs hold an all-time record of 90-121-21 against the Huskies dating back to 1952. During their last meeting in 2018, the Bulldogs used 2-1 and 5-2 victories to sweep Michigan Tech on the road in Houghton, MI.

The Bulldogs earned their bid to the NCAA tournament via. their 3-0 win over Western Michigan in the NCHC Championship on Saturday evening in St. Paul, Minn. On Friday in the NCHC Semifinals, the Bulldogs downed the Denver Pioneers by a score of 2-0. During the Frozen Faceoff, the Bulldogs shutout the No. 1 and No. 4 scoring offenses in the country. Denver entered the weekend scoring an average of 4.50 goals per game, which ranks first in the nation. For Western, their offense entered the tournament notching 3.78 goals per game, good enough for fourth in the NCAA.

The Huskies earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after posting 21-12-3 in the CCHA. Michigan Tech swept the Ferris State Bulldogs in the CCHA First Round, before losing 5-2 to Bemidji State in the CCHA Semifinals.
