Former Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs
Kobe Roth and
Koby Bender have each signed American Hockey League contracts, as it was announced on Tuesday afternoon. Roth has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Texas Stars, while Bender has inked a similar amateur tryout contract with the Bridgeport Islanders.
Across five seasons with the Bulldogs, Roth noted a total of 54 goals and 43 assists for 97 points in 176 collegiate games. Additionally, the Warroad, Minn. native tallied a career plus/minus rating of +23. During the most recent 2021-22 season, Roth posted career-highs in goals (16), assists (13) and points (29). Roth will join former Bulldog Riley Tufte in the Dallas Stars organization.
Also suiting up in five seasons with UMD, Bender notched 22 goals and 37 assists for 59 career points in 127 collegiate games. A native of Cloquet, Minn., Bender also rolled off career-highs this past season in goals (7), assists (19), points (26) and games played (42).
Both Roth and Bender will leave Minnesota Duluth with two National Championships (2018, 2019). Additionally, the pair helped UMD to four straight NCAA Frozen Four appearances.
