PUDER'S 9TH INNING HOME RUN PROPELS BULLDOGS TO WIN IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

Box Score Bemidji, Minn. -- The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs stayed on the road to cap of the regular season with game three of their series against Bemidji State. In what was a close game throughout, the Bulldogs managed to pull ahead late thanks to a Jack Puder home run to win the game 9-8. 

Tim Pokornowski got things started in the top of the first inning as he singled to right field to score Brandt Kolpack. The Beavers responded in the bottom of the second has they took an early lead thanks to a two-run home run. Brandt Kolpack answered with a solo home run in the top of the third inning for his first home run of the season. Boridie Paulson hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Tosten Mann as they Bulldogs took a 3-2 lead after three innings. The Beavers Tom Keohen answered in the bottom of the fourth inning with his second home run of the day to tie the game at 3-3. The Beavers managed to add another run in the inning off of a wild pitch. Sam Tanner added his name to the home run tally as he hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning. The Bulldogs power stayed hot in the top fo the 6th inning as Trevor Gustafson doubled to center field to score Tosten Mann. Tim Pokornowski then followed that up with a two-run home run as the Bulldogs took a 8-4 lead after the top of the 6th inning. The Beavers responded in the bottom of the sixth as they scored a run on a double to center field, followed by another run off of a wild pitch. They then cut their deficit to one as they scored another run on a single to center field as the Bulldogs led 8-7 after 6 innings. The Beavers managed to tie it up in the bottom of the 8th inning off of a single through the left side. But, Jack Puder won the game for the Bulldogs with a home run in the top of the 9th inning to give the Bulldogs theh 9-8 win. 

Jack Puder had a strong day at the plate as he went 4-5 with two runs, a home run and a double. Brandt Kolpack, Tosten Mann, Trevor Gustafson and Tim Pokornowski all tallied two hits in the game. Pokornowski tallied 3 RBI's while Sam Tanner added 2 of his own. Trevor Gustafson also tallied 2 doubles in the game. Wyatt O'Bey got the start for the Bulldogs and went 2.0 innings and allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 2 batters. Zach Kuseske notched his second win of the season as he went 1.2 innings and allowed two hits and one earned run while striking out one batter. Alex Wattermann earned his 8th save of the season.
