Chicago, Ill. - Former Minnesota Duluth men's hockey goaltender Alex Stalock has signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, the club announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Stalock, 34, appeared in one game for the San Jose Sharks during the 2021-22 campaign. He also spent time with the American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda and Bakersfield Condors last season.
To date, the St. Paul, Minn. native has suited up in 152 career NHL games and holds a 61-50-18 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average. The 6-foot-0, 185-pound goaltender has also posted a save percentage of .910 and a goals against average of 2.63 in 217 career AHL games. During the 2009-10 campaign with the AHL's Worchester Sharks, Stalock was named an AHL All-Star after he notched a 39-19-2 record during that season.
Stalock competed in 101 games with the Bulldogs from 2006-09. During his junior season in 2008-09, Stalock posted a 21-13-8 record with a .924 save percentage and a 2.13 goals against average. Stalock's performance earned himself All-American honors, making him just the third goaltender in program history to achieve the distinction.
Stalock was drafted in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2005 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks.
