BLUES SIGN PERUNOVICH TO ONE-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

St. Louis, MO - The St. Louis Blues have signed former Minnesota Duluth defenseman Scott Perunovich to a one-year, one-way contract, the team announced on Thursday afternoon.

Perunovich, 23, split the 2021-22 season between the St. Louis Blues and the American Hockey League's Springfield Thunderbirds. With the Blues, Perunovich appeared in 19 regular season games and noted six points (0G-6A) and a plus-2. He also suited up in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Blues and chipped in four points (0G-4A). The 5-foot-10, 174-pound defenseman played in 17 games with Springfield last season and noted three goals, 19 assists and 22 points.

A native of Hibbing, Minn., Perunovich competed in 115 games with the Bulldogs from 2017-20 and tallied 105 points (20G-85A). During his junior season in 2019-20, Perunovich tallied six goals, 34 assists and 40 points in just 34 games. For his efforts that season, Perunovich earned the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA's top collegiate player. During his time in Duluth, Perunovich helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships in 2018 and 2019.

Perunovich was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round (45th overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
