Duluth, Minn. - Bulldog Softball has named
Carly Brousek as the team's next assistant coach, the club announced on Monday afternoon. Brousek comes to Duluth after serving as an assistant coach with UW-Platteville.
"I am beyond excited for the opportunity to join a storied softball program like the University of Minnesota Duluth and to assist Coach Anderson as she continues to build a legacy for Bulldog Softball," said Brousek. "Coach Anderson is determined to continue to push these women to excel both on and off the playing field, and her passion for the game and her athletes was evident from the moment I met her. I'm excited to be a part of the Bulldog family!"
Brousek enters Duluth with more than three years of collegiate coaching experience split between UW-Platteville and Northwest Missouri State University. With UW-Platteville last season, Brousek worked with hitters and helped the team to a batting average of .307. She was also part of a coaching staff that saw four players earn All-Conference recognition, as well as one Academic All-American. As a player, Brousek suited up as a catcher for NSIC opponent Northern State University from 2014-2018. During her time with the Wolves, Brousek was a four-time NFCA Academic All-American honoree.
"We are thrilled to add Carly to our Bulldog staff," said Head Coach
Lynn Anderson. "Carly is an assiduous coach that has a passion for developing student-athletes. She's of high character which makes her a great role model for our players and for continuing our tradition of excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. Her familiarity with DII and the NSIC conference will help to continue the upward trajectory of this program as we compete for championships."
