Duluth, Minn- The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team fell 4-1 against St. Cloud State. The Bulldogs were able to keep a tight leash on the Huskies throughout the first half, holding St. Cloud to only five shots on goal, but would fall in the second half allowing three St. Cloud goals.

Abbie Gotham made their first starts of the season. The Bulldogs were down on defense with senior defender Maddie Felton and Junior goalkeeper
Jennifer Norris out due to injury.
The Bulldogs came out firing against the Huskies in the first half. They put up eight shots on goal early in the first half. The Bulldogs' first goal of the night was scored by
Anna Tobias, her first goal of the season. Tobias was assisted by
Jackie Jares, her first assist of the year.
Gotham had a great first half, holding St.Cloud to one goal. St. Cloud fired their first goal with seven minutes left in the first half, minutes after Gotham made the stop on a St. Cloud Breakaway.
Jares would be on the offensive early in the second half, narrowly missing the goal to give the Bulldogs the lead. The Huskies would then answer back with three goals, making it 4-1.
The Bulldogs now sit at 1-3 and look to build their record in conference play. They begin NSIC matchups on Friday, September 9 at 5pm in Minot, ND.
