UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition

Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community. 
 

The University of Minnesota men's hockey team's high-scoring series against Northern Michigan was highlighted by sophomore Ben Steeves' 4-goal performance and earned him National Collegiate Hockey Conference Forward of the Week.

Steeves scored a total of 6 points over the weekend, with two goals each night and an additional two assists Saturday. He led the conference in goals and points this weekend, as well as power play goals (3) and shots (14). 

Owen Gallatin (1-3-4) and Steeves were the only players in the conference with two multi-point games this weekend. This is the second week in a row UMD has received conference honors, after opening the season with Rookie (Menghini) and Goaltender (Stejskal) of the Week.

The Bulldogs return to AMSOIL Arena Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:07 p.m. to take on the Bemidji State Beavers.
