BULLDOGS TAKE TO THE ROAD FOR DOUBLE HEADER AGAINST BEMIDJI STATE

The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team is on the road yet again for a double header against Bemidji State for a midweek double header. 

UMD is looking to improve their overall record 12-20 (5-14 NSIC).Coming off a hard fought loss against Concordia St. Paul, the Bulldogs are hungry to get another win under their belts. 

Ethan Cole is still leading the Bulldogs at the plate with a .359 batting average, .651 slugging percentage, 37 hits, 37 runs, 24 RBIs and five home runs. The Bulldogs continue to rely on seniors Tosten Mann and Tim Pokornowski who combine for 41 hits and 25 RBIs. 

On the Mound, Brayden Buttweiler remains at the top for the Bulldogs with a 3.04 ERA and 36 strikeouts on the season. Alex Watterman sits directly behind Buttweiler with a 3.31 ERA and 19 strikeouts. 

Bemidji State sits two spots behind the Bulldogs in the NSIC standings with a conference record or 1-19 and 2-33 overall. Historically, the Bulldogs have fared well against the Beavers. During the last matchup between the Beavers and Bulldogs, UMD was able to get the 9-8 win. 

The Bulldogs will take to the field for game one on Tuesday, April 18 in Bemidji, MN. The first pitch for game one of the double header is slated for 2:30 p.m. with game two following immediately after.
