FOOTBALL NAMES WILLIAMS AS RUNNING BACK COACH

The University of Minnesota Duluth football team has named Devin Williams as the team's next assistant coach for running backs.

""I'm very excited for this next chapter here in Duluth," said Williams. "Thank you to Coach Wiese and Coach Vogler and the rest of the staff for this opportunity to join the Bulldogs this upcoming fall. I am very much looking forward to watching our guys compete this season in the pursuit of bring another championship back to Duluth."

"Devin brings experience at the college level both as a player and a coach to UMD," said head coach Curt Wiese. "He will take over a veteran running back room and look to develop those guys this fall."

Williams is joining Bulldogs Country after his year at Alfred State College as their running back coach. Prior to coaching at Alfred State, Williams was the associate lacrosse and football coach at Fairport High School. Before he began his coaching career, Williams played on the defensive line at St. John Fisher College.

Williams will oversee the running backs, who were ranked second in the NSIC and 14th in the nation for rushing offense and third-down conversion percentage.
