University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey alum Doug Nosan passed away last week at the age of 74.

Nosan grew up in Hibbing and graduated from Hibbing High School in 1966 before attending UMD to graduate with a degree in Health and Physical Education in 1970. As a Bulldog, Nosan posted 7 points in 29 games, including 3 goals and 4 assists. Doug's son Ryan also played for the Bulldogs from 1996-2000. 

Doug went on to teach in Silver Bay from 1970 – 1972 before accepting a job at Lake of the Woods Community School where he worked from 1972 – 2005 and during the summer months for 20 years he worked with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. 

A Funeral Service for Douglas B. Nosan of Baudette, MN will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 2:00PM at the Lake of the Woods Community Arena.
