Three current University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey players will suit up in this week's U.S. - Canada three-game series scheduled for August 16, 17, and 19 at the Lake Placid Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Graduate senior forward Mannon McMahon will skate for the U.S. Collegiate Women's Select Team, with fellow Bulldog sophomore defenseman Tova Henderson and freshman goaltender Ève Gascon suiting up for Canada's National Women's Development Team. Alum and UMD standout Noémie Marin currently serves as the assistant coach for Canada, along with former Bulldog All-American Emmanuelle Blais,  the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the National Women's Development Team.

McMahon is among 12 forwards selected on a team of 23 current collegiate players for the U.S. side. McMahon set a career mark offensively last season, posting 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points, and was named the Bulldogs captain for 2023-24. The product of Maple Grove, Minn. will make her USA Hockey senior-level debut in the series.

Henderson was named an assistant captain for Canada's NWDT, and is coming off her first collegiate season with the Bulldogs. The Richmond, B.C. native played in 38 of 39 possible games for UMD and posted a goal and six assists for seven points. 

Gascon, one of only two women ever to win a CHL game and one of four to ever play in the league, will make her debut in a Bulldog sweater this fall as a member of the 2023-24 squad. Gascon hails from Laval, Quebec, and backstopped Canada's U-18 team to a silver medal in the 2020 IIHF Women's World U-18 Championship.
