Gascon Gloves WCHA Goaltender of the Month for February

University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey goaltender Eve Gascon put up arguably the best statistics in the NCAA last month, and as a result, the junior was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Goaltender of the Month for February.

The Mascouche, Quebec native dominated league opponents last month with a .970 saves percentage and 227 saves over eight games for a record of 7-1-1. Gascon led the NCAA with four shutouts -- one in half of the games she played in February and now has 10 shutouts on the season, good for the second most in the NCAA this season and the most in the WCHA.

Gascon led in every conference category, including minutes played (520:05), saves percentage, wins and a goals against average that was an impressive 0.81 through all eight skates.

The six-time WCHA Goaltender of the Week also ran her career shutout total to 21 -- just two shy of the Bulldogs program record of 23 -- with another season yet to play in a UMD sweater.

Gascon currently owns a 1.71 GAA through 34 games this season and a .941 saves percentage to pair with her 10 shutouts and 18 win junior campaign.
