The University of Minnesota Duluth soccer team starts conference play this weekend, with a rematch against St. Cloud State University on Friday and then returning home to take on University of Minnesota Crookston Sunday afternoon.
Coming off their first win of the season, the Bulldogs look to bring momentum into these two games and begin Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches in the win column.
St. Cloud State
UMD will have played SCSU exactly one week prior, a 2-0 loss at Malosky Stadium. The Huskies goals were scored by fifth year Jenna Dominguez and junior Ariel Hawkey, both in the second half.
SCSU enters this weekend with a 3-1-0 record after going on to beat Minnesota State-Moorhead 2-1 Sunday. Dominguez scored the winning goal. Shutting her down defensively could be key to a win Friday for the Bulldogs.
A victory would be the program's first over the Huskies since Sept. 12, 2017, which they won 1-0 at home.
UMD takes on SCSU on Friday at 5 p.m. in St. Cloud.
