The University of Minnesota Duluth indoor men's and women's track meet had a successful second meet of the season Friday, competing at the Bearson/Gathje Classic in the Myers Fieldhouse on the campus of the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus in Mankato, Minn.

Both sides excelled in the middle distance races, with senior Owen Dickenson leading the way with a personal record and win in the mile with a time of 4:20:06. The Bulldogs swept the 800 meter races for both teams on wins by junior Savannah Schley (2:15:82) and junior Finn Youberg (1:57:77). Freshman Emily Bastian earned a first place finish in the 600 meters with a run of 1:41:43. The men's team also had 2-4 finishes in the 600m – Bereket Loer (second, 1:25:24), Ted Rogers (third, 1:25:96) and Alexander Croston (fourth, 1:27:45).

UMD was again successful in the field events, with sophomore Jaden Johnson taking the top of the podium with a season-best jump of 1.96m, while sophomore Luke Oberleitner placed third with a season-best of 1.91m. Three Bulldog men went 2-4 in the shot put – senior Eli Bicek in second with a throw of 16.26m, sophomore Jackson Weston third with a PR (15.97m) and senior Colton Kostynick in fourth (12.77m). On the women's shot put side, senior Jacqi Rae picked up a third place finish with a throw of 12.28m.

Sophomore Will Heydt earned a second place finish in the men's triple jump with a jump of 13.95, while senior Eli Bicek also placed second with a men's weighted throw of 17.61m.

UMD swept both the men's and women's 4x400 meter relay with Bulldog runners Schley, Alaina Steele, Julia Kuhnke and Sarah Baum taking first place in the women's race with a season best time (4:09:48) and Brady Johnson, Teddy Rogers, Loer and Alexander Croston (3:31:04).
