UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition

Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community. 
 

The University of Minnesota men's hockey team's December campaign was led by sophomore forward Ben Steeves and earned him National Collegiate Hockey Conference Player of the Month. 

Steeves had seven goals through six games in the final month of the year, averaging 1.34 points per game. In December, he led all NCHC players in points (8) and game-winning goals (2). His performance included two two-goal games (12/8 vs. Miami, 12/29 vs. Air Force). 

He's led the Bulldogs in goals (14) and points (7) this entire season. Steeves also leads the conference with eight power play goals, second in the nation. 

UMD plays St. Thomas in an exhibition game at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, before returning to AMSOIL Arena for a NCHC series against Colorado College at 7 p.m. Friday, January 12 and Saturday, January 13.
