UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.Â
University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey senior center
Dominic James was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's Forward of the Week after his offensive outburst against Stonehill College over the past weekend.
A native of Plymouth, Mich., James figured in five of the Bulldogs seven goals against the Skyhawks over their series sweep, including back-to-back two goal games for the first time in his collegiate career. James had two goals and an assist Friday night in UMD's 5-1 win -- which included a power play tally and game-winning goal before registering two power play goals and another game winner on Saturday in the 2-1 triumph over Stonehill. The top goal scorer in the conference over the weekend, James also added four blocked shots.
The team captain ranks second in goals in the NCHC so far this season with six in seven games, and has 10 overall points (6g, 4a), which ranks him fifth overall in points.
James and the Bulldogs will take a weekend off from outside competition before hosting the University of North Dakota on Nov. 8-9 at AMSOIL Arena.
