University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey freshman center
Caitlin Kraemer was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Rookie of the Week Monday after two goal weekend against Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The product of Waterloo, Ontario scored half of UMD's goals in its 4-1 win over the Mavericks Friday night, including an unassisted breakaway that came off a steal in the third period to ice the game. Kraemer was +3 Friday with six shots, and logged her second multiple point and two goal game of the season.
This marks Kraemer's second WCHA weekly honor so far -- the freshman also was named the WCHA's Rookie of the Month for September. Kraemer currently has six points (5g, 1a) in 10 games.
The No. 4Â Bulldogs will take another week off from outside competition before hosting the University of Minnesota on Nov. 15-16 at AMSOIL Arena.
