Kraemer Nabs WCHA Rookie of the Week Honor

UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community. 


University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey freshman forward Caitlin Kraemer earned her third Western Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week honor Tueaday after a career weekend for the Bulldogs against the University of Vermont.

The native of Waterloo, Ontario opened the series with an assist in Friday's 4-0 victory before she followed that up and recorded her first collegiate hat trick along ,with two assists for a career-high five points in the Bulldogs' 9-1 win Saturday. Kraemer;s hat trick was the first by a Bulldog freshman since Katie Wilson did it on Nov. 28, 2009.

Kraemer now has 12 points on the season and is tied for the most team's most goals with eight. Kraemer was also named the WCHA's Rookie of the Month in September.

The Bulldogs and Kraemer will travel to St. Cloud, Minn. this weekend to put the wraps on the 2024 season in a Friday-Saturday series against St. Cloud State University that gets underway Friday at 3:00 p.m.
