The University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team closed out their final game of 2024 before the holiday break this afternoon, falling to the Concordia St. Paul Golden Bears 82-38 on the road in the Gangelhoff Center.

The Bulldogs stumbled out of the gate to open the afternoon, struggling to put together a scoring run throughout the opening 20 minutes and facing a 44-16 deficit by the halftime break.
CSP continued to increase its lead after halftime, building a 49-16 advantage before UMD went on a 7-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Miller, to trim its deficit to 49-23 with 6:34 to go in the third. The Golden Bears countered and stretched their lead to 73-27 heading into the fourth. The Bulldogs played well near the basket, scoring eight of their 11 points in the paint.
CSP continued to widen its lead in the fourth, constructing a 77-27 advantage before UMD collected five unanswered points, finished off by a jumper from Miller, to shrink the deficit to 77-32 with 6:44 to go in the contest. The Bulldogs kept their comeback going, but the Golden Bears managed to hold on for the 82-38 win. UMD fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down two shots from outside the arc to account for six of its 11 points.
Bulldog Notes vs. CSP
The Bulldogs had two players score in double figures, led by Lexi Karge, who had 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks. Grace Counts tacked on 10 points off the bench and Johanna Miller added six points and a team high seven rebounds.
Led by Miller's four offensive rebounds, the Bulldogs did a great job crashing the offensive glass as a whole, pulling down 11 boards that resulted in four second chance points.
UMD excelled in disrupting the Golden Bears' shots throughout the contest, coming away with eight blocks. Karge's two rejections led the way individually for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs continued to incorporate everyone in their offensive scheme, recording an assist on 80% of made baskets and adding 16 points from the bench to their total scoring output.

Bulldog women's basketball (4-8, 2-5 NSIC) return to action following the holiday break on the road to take on the Northern State University Wolves and the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons. Tip-off against the Wolves is currently set for Friday, Jan. 3, at 5:30 PM.
