UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.Â
After a a two goal, three point weekend against then No. 19 Arizona State University,
Max Plante has been named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference's Rookie of the Week.
The freshman out of Hermantown, Minn. figured in half of the University of Minnesota Duluth's goals on the weekend (5), and scored the first collegiate goal of his career, as well as added an assist Friday night against the Sun Devils. Plante then added another goal Saturday in the third period that jump-started UMD's offense in the frame. In all, Plante had 10 shots on goal on the weekend and was +1. He now has two multiple point games and has six points in his first five collegiate games this season (2g, 4a).
Plante and the Bulldogs will have one more non-conference game in 2024 when it travels to Bemidji State University on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Game-time is set for 7:07 p.m.
