The University of Minnesota Duluth baseball team embarks back out on the road as they look to take on the No. 19 ranked Augustana University Vikings in another back to back doubleheader weekend. 

Last Time Out

UMD went 2-2 last weekend in their four game series against the University of Sioux Falls, taking home wins in games one and four of the back to back doubleheaders. Graduate student pitcher Brayden Buttweiler continues to deal on the mound, picking up his second win of the season and collecting seven strikeouts through seven innings of work. Junior outfielder Kade Peloquin brought out the bat this weekend, going 9-16 (.562) from the plate with two home runs and nine RBI's while also posting a perfect 1.000 FLD% with 10 putouts. 

Scouting Report - Augustana University Vikings

The Augustana University Vikings hold a 13-4 overall record and 6-2 conference record to open the 2024 season. The Vikings currently remain as the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) team on the NCBWA national rankings, slotting in at No. 19 in the most recent poll. The Bulldogs are 3-20 against the Vikings since 2013, falling in their last 12 matchups dating back to the 2018 season.

Looking Ahead

Bulldog baseball is expected to play their home opener for the 2024 season next week against the MSU Mankato Mavericks. First pitch is currently scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 28, at 1:30 PM.
